The Department of Linguistics and Translatology (KJaT) provides education with two foreign languages – English and German – in specialized courses. Subjects taught at KJaT follow the goal to train students to acquire an excellent command of two foreign languages at the same level in both, conversational and professional communication, in spoken and written form; a perfect command of the grammatical apparatus of foreign languages; to understand the conceptual apparatus of both languages, with an emphasis on the specificities of verbal and nonverbal communication; to gain theoretical knowledge in linguistics and its components; to gain knowledge and skills about translation strategies and interpreting techniques.
