Applicants for the 1st degree of study
Applicants for the study programme Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication at the Faculty of Applied Languages at the University of Economics in Bratislava submit their applications from 15 September 2024 to 30 April 2025 electronically exclusively through the Academic Information System of the University of Economics in Bratislava.
Admission examination date: 16.6.-20.6.2025
Applicants take the admission test in general prerequisites and English language.
The National Comparative Examination (SCIO) tests can be taken during the academic year 2024/2025 in several cities in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The tests can be taken more than once, and candidates will always be credited with their best test results. The test has to be taken by 1 May 2025 at the latest.
If an applicant does not pass all the prescribed tests in the National Comparative Examinations within a given percentile, he/she has to take the entrance examination at the Faculty of Applied Languages at the University of Economics in Bratislava in all the subjects of the admission examination.
Applicants to the Faculty of Applied Languages can choose from a combination of languages:
- English and German or
- English and French, or
- English and Spanish, or
- English and Russian.
The second language (German, French, Spanish, Russian) is at least at A2 level.

Master study
Applicants for the 2nd degree of study
Applicants for the study programme Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication at the Faculty of Applied Languages at the University of Economics in Bratislava submit their applications from 15 September 2024 to 30 April 2025 electronically exclusively through the Academic Information System of the University of Economics in Bratislava.
Admission examination date: 25. 6. 2025
The basic admission requirements for the Master's degree program Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication at the Faculty of Applied Languages of the University of Economics in Bratislava include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field of study. The total number of credits from the applicant's previous higher education, combined with the number of credits required for the completion of the Master's degree program has to be at least 300 credits.
Applicants to the Faculty of Applied Languages may choose from a combination of languages:
- English and German or
- English and French, or
- English and Spanish, or
- English and Russian.
The second language (German, French, Spanish, Russian) is at least at the B2 level.
