Call for Applications for Scholarships and Project Cooperation under the Austria-Slovakia Programme

We would like to inform you that the next call for applications for scholarships and project cooperation is currently open within the programme the Action Austria - Slovakia, Cooperation in Science and Education.

Those interested in applying for scholarships in Austria can apply in the following categories:

  • Scholarships Action for master students for the preparation of their thesis (1 250 euros/month),

  • Action Research Scholarships for PhD students (EUR 1 250/month),

  • Research scholarships Actions for scientific and teaching staff up to 10 years after the completion of their PhD. / (1 400 euro/month),

  • Action Scholarships for Summer Language Schools - students and PhD students from technical sciences / philological and literary sciences can apply for scholarships for summer language schools in 2025 (the scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation and a stipend of 750 euros).                                           

  • The basic timetable of this call is:

  • Deadline for applications: 3. 2025

  • Selection of scholarship holders: end of April

  • Start date: three months after the closing date at the earlies

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis in the Action Scholarships category for short stays of 1-3 days (135 euros/day).

The scholarship is open to students, PhD students, researchers and teaching staff from state, public or private universities in Slovakia and the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

The following category is open for project cooperation:

  • Support for Action Initiative Projects - under this area of support, project partners choose the topics and activities they need to fulfil their objectives (bottom-up approach). Financial support can be up to a maximum of EUR 6 000 per year (12 consecutive months).

The basic timetable for this call is:

  • Deadline for submission of applications: 15 March 2025
  • Approval of projects: end of April
  • Start of project implementation: no earlier than four months after the closure date
