Dear colleagues,

we would like to inform you that within the framework of the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic for Mobility Support, a new call for applications for scholarships for study, research/art and lectureships in the academic year 2025/2026 has been published.

The deadline for applications is 30 April 2025 at 16:00, and fellowships will be available for the 2025/2026 academic year. Applications for fellowships can currently be submitted online at www.stipendia.sk or www.scholarships.sk.

The results of the selection will be published on our website (www.stipendia.sk/sk/main/vysledky-vyberovych-konani) no later than 8 weeks after the deadline of the programme; all scholarship applicants will be informed of the selection results by email. Universities will be provided with lists of scholarship holders, addressed to the Vice-Chancellors for International Affairs.

The scholarships are intended for students and PhD students of Slovak universities (even if the PhD studies are carried out at an external educational institution within the meaning of the Higher Education Act, e.g. at the Slovak Academy of Sciences) and postdoctoral students working at Slovak universities and research organisations with permanent residence in Slovakia to cover the living costs of study and/or research/artistic stay during the period of 2 years. degree of higher education (master's/engineering/doctoral studies), study and/or research/artistic stay during doctoral studies or research stay for postdoctoral fellows at a selected foreign higher education institution or research organisation. Students, PhD students and postdoctoral fellows may apply for a travel grant in connection with their planned study and/or research/artistic stay abroad together with their application for a scholarship under the NRP.

The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic is also intended to support the mobility of foreign students, PhD students, university teachers, research and artistic workers for stays at Slovak universities and research organisations. Citizens of any country in the world can apply for the scholarship. The original of the acceptance/invitation letter for foreign applicants must now be delivered to SAIA, n. o., in Bratislava (SAIA, n. o., Sasinkova 10, 812 20 Bratislava 1), so that this document is received no later than on the 3rd working day following the closing date, namely by 12:00 p.m. (the legal status in Slovakia is taken into account when considering working days).

The National Scholarship Programme (NSP) is a scholarship programme approved by the Government of the Slovak Republic by Resolution No. 557 of 13 July 2005. The continuation of the NSP was decided by the Government of the Slovak Republic by Resolution No 317 of 29 April 2009. The scholarship programme is financed by the Ministry of Education, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic (MŠVaŠ SR) from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic. SAIA, n. o., administratively ensures the National Scholarship Programme on the basis of a contract concluded between the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and SAIA, n. o. Scholarship holders of the National Scholarship Programme are scholarship holders of the Government of the Slovak Republic.

The next deadline, which will take place on 31 October 2025, will focus on scholarships during the summer semester of the academic year 2025/2026.
