The aim of the trip was to renew cooperation with INALCO in the form of lectures aimed at deepening the awareness of Francophone students about the differences between the Czech and Slovak languages. The exchange of knowledge and expertise with colleagues from INALCO contributed to the enrichment of my teaching practice and opened up interesting linguistic questions related to the lecture topics.
Since there are several universities in Paris and there are important experts in the field of French linguistics, I tried to contact some of them and arrange a meeting. I was very surprised and pleased by their response and helpfulness, which resulted in invitations to interesting lectures at the Université Sorbonne Paris 1, where I was invited by Prof. Gilles Siouffi and Prof. André Thibault. I was thus able to attend very useful and stimulating lectures and, in addition, I was approached by Prof. Thibault to give a shortened version of my lecture for INALCO in his seminar on comparative linguistics. So I was privileged to have the opportunity to speak briefly on the campus of one of the world's oldest and most prestigious universities.
So I managed not only to fulfill my stay plan, but even to surpass it. The experience I gained will positively reflect on my teaching, linguistic thinking and my appetite for further academic work.
