Interdisciplinarity and interculturalism – these are two important terms found in all areas of contemporary society.
The university sector is intensively confronted within this context. Dynamic international links lead to the growth of communication processes that have gone beyond national cultures. These processes are subsequently reflected in all fields that influence theory and practice. And this has given rise to the challenge to master these processes in the diversity of fields of study. Thus, it is anticipated within applied linguistics and economic fields of study that the forms and consequences of this phenomenon will be subject to informed analysis, while also paying attention to the creation of appropriate concepts for its resolution. The contributions of university pedagogues from the fields of languages, economics and political science from the University of Economics in Bratislava, Masaryk University in Brno and the Pedagogical University in Vienna published in the proceedings entitled Intercultural Communications in Changing Times discuss many aspects of this complex theme from the perspective of political science and applied linguistics as well as research from professional communication, contrastive linguistics, foreign language didactics and translating. This topic also includes important linguistic-political, sociocultural aspects. These proceedings, which feature a wide range of interdisciplinary connected topics under the guiding concept of Intercultural Communication, is designed for all experts who deal with this phenomenon in their research.
